St. Joseph Aide Wins Caregiver of the Quarter Award

Hospice Partners Aide Rachel Gross was recently awarded the “Caregiver of the Quarter” Award by The Compassion Point and Meierhoffer Funeral Home. This is the second quarter that the award has given to caregivers in the community and this quarter saw a number of applicants. Winning the quarterly award puts Rachel in the running for winning the annual award at the end of the year.

Rachel has been with Hospice Partners over a year and has been a CNA for 22 years. Clinical Team Lead Kandus Jacobs said the following about Rachel: “I could say a million things about what an amazing person she is. She never says no and will even take supplies to patients on the weekend just to make sure the patient has whatever they need.” One of Rachel’s current patients has a special routine. At every visit, after the patient’s shower is complete, Rachel and the patient dance. In fact, this patient taught Rachel how to dance.

The Caregiver of the Quarter Award covers all of Northwest Missouri. Rachel was nominated by several staff member and by a staff member at a local facility. Rachel will attend the awards banquet in Jefferson City.

Meierhoffer Funeral Home has been a part of the St. Joseph community for over 125 years. The Compassion Point is an online learning resource for caregivers.
